THAT are the pictures that keep owners and trainers waiting longingly for the start of this year’s carnival on the long weekend in Coonamble.

The Coonamble Track in absolutely perfect condition.

“From what the locals tell me, the track has never been in better shape,” said event organizer Kevin Gordon.

“And it’s hard to argue that you look at these pictures in the middle of winter.

“Two years ago, significant work was carried out and after last year’s Carnival was missed on Covid, the association is very much looking forward to starting this year.”

There are only 80 days to go until the famous October Carnival starts on Friday October 1st.

This is followed by four days of frenetic racing, culminating in a monster day full of final action on Monday, October 4th.

The flagship event – the Ned Australian Whiskey Gold Maiden (305 m) – will play a record price of 12,000 US dollars for the first time.

COONAMBLE CARNIVAL RACING PROGRAM

“Trying is really increasing, which is going well for a large turnout this year,” added Gordon.

“The accommodations in the city are also as good as occupied, so I urge everyone who has to come to terms quickly.”

While the Ned Australian Whiskey Gold Maiden is the signature event, a variety of other special races are held that include greyhounds of all classes and distances.

“The Coonamble Cup – supported by new sponsor Tvati – is a new addition to the calendar that we are looking forward to,” added Gordon. “And the stakes at Garrard’s Super Maiden have also increased.”

The Coonamble Club tests at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings, but will also offer private tests for traveling trainers if possible.

“If you contact the club, they will do whatever they can to help with private legal proceedings,” added Gordon.

As a blessing for the players, the club has won nine bookmakers for this year’s carnival, who ensure that the betting ring is very busy.

The prelims to the opening round of the 2021 Centenary Agri 525-Yard Tipperary Cup were the hallmark of an exciting Saturday game at Thurles Greyhound Stadium, and the results list featured a household name, with the dubious Cabra Ava (Kinloch Brae-Cabra Smokey) fastest at the flagship -Event of the premier venue.

The 2020 Thurles Champion, trapped in trap 2 for the last of five rounds, is offering a remarkable double, while the Ava Scally darling, now in the veteran phase of her wonderful career and advancing rapidly on Saturday, confirmed that she is as sprightly as ever.

The June 2017 puppy quickly built a length lead and defended that lead over Borna Aoife and Dark Devil as he tackled the first corner. The latter, stretching two lengths at the top of the back straight, made a staggering attempt to overtake Cabra Ava, who passed halfway, and it was Dark Devil who led two lengths in the final corners.

However, a defiant refusal to be defeated on home turf resulted in the Scally Star Rally entering the home straight and the shortest route along the track took length judgment in a quick 28.93 (-20), with Borna Aoife remaining third .

Second best in the opening round of the feature event, Auxerre (Droopys Sydney-Toms Delight) had emerged for Oliver Shelds as the winner in an exciting Heat 2, his Thurles debut.

The Newry raider showed the best early jump after a level break in trap 6 and enjoyed plenty of leeway as he swept the curve in front of Meduza. This rival, stretching two lengths up the back straight, remained a constant threat before Auxerre tackled the third corner decisively with a narrow half-length advantage.

Once again over a length before the home stretch was reached, the shield attack was again required to fend off the stubborn Meduza near the house, and only one head separated the pair in a brilliant buckle. With 29.16 (-20), Neon Alex took third place after the first corner.

With Heat 4, Kathleen Pomfret’s promising candidate Freedom Epic (Belles Direction-Jaytee Sahara) complemented his recent first success at A3 level with an extremely gratifying win on his Open debut.

As a puppy in September 2019, he battled the lead during the initial exchange after bravely lapping the rival while negotiating the turns after leveling Trap 4 and hitting the opening curve on Luke Fizz’s shoulder. He was nearly four lengths ahead on the way to halftime, however the latter rival was starting to close on the approach to the home stretch, but it was the quick-to-finish Jaytee Japan who would pose a greater threat.

However, with his lead diminishing just before the finish line, Freedom Epic retained plenty of determination to maintain a half-length lead on Jaytee Japan in 29.17 (-20), with Luke’s Fizz Lemon holding off Yohan for third place.

Heat 3 confirmed his latest rich form in the capital, going to Andrew Murray’s Gortkelly Nestor (Droopy’s Jet-Dream Queen) when he was also leading in a highly competitive competition.

The broad Seed deftly broke out of its ideal trap spot 6 and saw little rival as it reached the opening curve with a length in hand over Cabra Luna before sweeping into the curve with a powerful swing. Two lengths for the better, while still being chased up halfway by that rival, it was Nidge’s flashy finish that would threaten the Murray onslaught in the home stretch, but seeing the trip well, Gortkelly Nestor kept that rival up to save a length at the post of 29.19 (-20) when Coolavanny Bundi took third place, three lengths further back.

At the start of the Tipperary Cup, while heightened the local challenge of the event, Heat 1 delivered an extremely admirable win for Pairic Campions Lynchy Boy (Confident Rankin-Boozed Bubble) when he made an Open Class debut with four corners above his rating started.

Officially a puppy for just one more week, the July 2019 puppy was the slowest to leave its berth in trap 1, but once in full flight showed an intelligent stroke that closed on pacemaker Ballinbola Bolt while he was holding the rails commanded on approach to the corner.
The Campion youngster fought his way around in a tight space turning and battled his way to second at the top of the back straight, targeting the leader who was swept halfway forward. Behind it, Edencurra Brae followed every move and took second place, racing on Lynchy Boy’s tail into the last corners.

Lynchy Boy held on to his task calmly, however, never for overtaking maneuvers and achieved a very gratifying victory with one and a half lengths behind Edencurra Brae, while Ballinabola Bolt remained third with 29.32 (-20).

Rory maintains belief in the speedy return of racing
There was more open racing action outside of the Saturday feature event and the 330 yard S0 sprint contest saw Patrick Treacy’s Faithful Rory (Mall Brandy-Faithful Fairy) make a successful return from a substantial layoff when he was on his ninth Career victory was just at the top.

As a semi-finalist in last season’s Tipperary Cup, the March 2017 puppy had passed the veteran phase since his last appearance in October but was prepared for his return. A suitable draw in case 1 meant that he immediately took the lead after a level break.

Together with Hon The Jet, who took the lead on the long stretch to the opening curve, but always had the shadowing feature, the Treacy veteran used his rails pitch ideally when he could handle the turns. A tenacious challenger, Hon The Jet gallantly held the winning edge on the line, but with 17.93 (-10) in a sparkling return, Faithful Rory was never up for catch.

In a second sprint contest on Saturday, the S2 330 also proved to be decisive for the rails run of Trap 1, as Christopher Delaney’s Roscrea Billy (Pat C. Sabbath-Forest Tess) was just hurling a tightly packed field back into the first corner before stretching out to a four-length profit margin over Boherash Mike in 18.35 (-10).

Sonic does a hat trick
In addition to their Tipp Cup successes, the Scally family’s kennels recorded another double on the night when Paddy Scally’s puppy Cabra Sonic (Kinloch Brae-Cabra Ebony) completed a quick double at the start of his career in September 2019 and the beginner’s rating for the last Week through a dominant. added A3 525 victory.

Very quickly out of trap 4, the bright prospect comfortably led to the opening curve before moving up to halfway away from bumping back under full control. Cabra Sonic never saw a rival, holding in 29.32 (-20) six and a half lengths from Nowursinging.

Second best over 525, the second of Saturday’s A3 events, delivered the eighth career win for Canice Hyland’s Foxrock Genius (Farloe Blitz-Swift Hazel) as he cornered with a smart early pace of Trap 6 by a narrow margin reached. The June 2018 puppy swept across a bumpy field and then easily skipped clear as it stopped four lengths above the permanent Lingrawn Roxy at 29.46 (-20).

A string of early wins started the action on Saturday, with Patrick Maher & John O’Deas Killduff Duke (Laughil Duke-Killduff Kerry) advancing from debut to 7/30 (-20) in an hour and a half loss to Nutsy before Jackie Sparrow’s Ballyphilip Fab (Skywalker Farloe-Ballyphilip Ace) scored for the eighth time when he asked for a double judgment on Flattenthecurve while staying and booked 29.77 (-20) on the A7 525.

The final A6 525 was a close affair, but it just took off with a second win on the go. The early pace of PJ Peacock’s Ratchies Boss (Pat C. Sabbath-Droopys Magician) let him dominate up to halfway before tackling the great late challenge of Rahyvira Spice by. fended off a head in 30.17 (-20).

Top dog
Coming back from a nine month absence, Faithful Rory (Mall Brandy-Faithful Fairy) presented himself in splendid shape for a laudable win in his S0-330 yard contest and was still easy for his age, could set up an exciting veterans campaign his March was four years old.

Best bitch
Cabra Ava (Kinloch Brae-Cabra Smokey), the fastest in the opening round of the Tipperary Cup, remains in splendid shape and is the one to beat as she is sure to take on everyone as the leader of the home challenge in the main event of the season.

One to watch
On the hunt for Gortkelly Nestor in the opening round of the Tipperary Cup, Nidge from the Better Together Syndicate (Laughil Blake-Gurrane Blue) was a real eye-catcher when it came to reducing significant residues on the line to one length and with this first Thurles- With racing experience behind him, he can still have a big say in the event.

After five weeks of intense competition, the final of the Star Sports / TRC Events & Leisure English Greyhound Derby will take place this Saturday in Towcester.

The thunderstorms stayed out of the area last Saturday night, but a highly charged atmosphere will permeate the Northamptonshire circuit as the six remaining greyhounds chase the first prize of £ 175,000 for the winner.

Deerjet Sydney is on the cusp of racing immortality and winning for Pat Buckley’s protégé would see him become the first dog to win consecutive derbies since the mighty Westmead Hawk (2005/2006) and the first to do so in multiple venues does.

After a rare defeat for the reigning champions last weekend and Knocknaboul Syd’s elimination, the resulting blow tore the race wide open and every runner has his own story.

Liam Dowling and Graham Holland have won several Category 1 races in Ireland, although success in the English showpiece passed them by.

Dowling hit the bar with Ballymac Tas (2019) and Ballymac Vic (2013) and has two big chances in this year’s renewal with Ballymac Wild and Ballymac Fairone.

Holland, who was born in Wiltshire, moved to Ireland in 2002 but has long coveted this award and he will rely on Newinn Session.

The home team still has two in the final, with Kilara Icon and Thorn Falcon representing master coach Patrick Janssens.

The Belgian-born handler reportedly fell in love with the derby while visiting Wimbledon in 1985 and gave up his career on the railroad in his homeland to pursue his dream.

Let’s take a closer look at the finalists …

Greyhound Derby Final – 9:09 p.m. Towcester

1st NEWINN SESSION

  • bk d Laughil Duke – Coolavannny Pearl (July 18)
  • Coach: Graham Holland (Crazy)
  • Owner: Simon Taylor
  • Fastest Calculated Time: 29.33 (July 3rd)

Newinn Session, a leading ante-post favorite for the 2020 Derby, was similarly touted ahead of this year’s competition, and while it is fair to say he looked not entirely in love with Towcester; this may be due to memories of a collision with the rails during the opening lap.

Highly regarded since his arrival as a precocious adolescent, he was the only dog to inflict defeat on Easter Cup hero Knocknaboul Syd during this series, and he has seen parts of almost the entire article.

Despite all of his weaknesses, the market misunderstood him last week and he deserves credit for coming out of a widely considered unfavorable draw at 4.18. Connections will be philosophical about getting this jacket back, although last Saturday’s efforts were a big step in the right direction.

Greyhound Derby Tips & Choices | Towcester | Saturday July 10th

2. DEERJET SYDNEY

  • wbd d Droopys Sydney – Madgies Wish (June 18)
  • Coach: Pat Buckley (Irish)
  • Owner: Kenny Glen
  • Fastest Calculated Time: 29.13 (June 26)

Some may have believed last year’s derby wasn’t a classic car renewal in the face of the lack of a number of the big Irish stars, but Deerjet Sydney has silenced those doubters and the champion arrives at Saturday’s flagship with four wins from his five starts .

Eliminated in the early stages of the Easter Cup may explain why he came to Towcester with an overall 25/1 chance, but defied his claim in this year’s competition by beating leading English hope Tenpin by nearly five lengths.

Last week’s chore was getting a potential banana peel out of the red jacket, but a third was good enough to keep you going. Winner of two in last year’s Nottingham final, tonight’s draw should fit and he will be a tough nut to crack if he makes one non-stop run to the Inside Rail.

3. BALLYMAC FAIRONE

  • bk d Ballymac Matt – Ballymac Scala (June 19)
  • Trainer: Liam Dowling (Irish)
  • Owner: Liam Dowling
  • Fastest Calculated Time: 08/29 (July 3rd)

Liam Dowling had a predictably high quality slot for his annual raid at the Derby, but the youngest remaining dog in the competition managed to escape largely under the radar.

Despite his relative inexperience, Ballymac Fairone’s pedigree is not lacking in class. A son of the Irish Derby winner 2015, Ballymac Matt, comes from a repeated mating of the litter, which produced the multiple finalist of the class 1 Ballymac Cooper. It wasn’t until his debut in March that he hinted he might be special on his second start as he beat up a decent field at Shelbourne Park by nine lengths.

Dowling believes he could be a better dog next year, but his dominance in his semifinals had a lot going for him and he’s a previous trapped winner. The way in which he was ready to win ugly in the third round suggests that he is not a fair weather actor.

4. KILARA LION

  • bd d Droopys Jet – Kilara Lizzie (February 18)
  • Trainer: Patrick Janssens
  • Owner: Crampton / Crapper / Priestley / Thomas
  • Fastest Calculated Time: 29.49 (July 3rd)

Salad Dodger (2014) and Astute Missile (2017) have proven that it is not necessary to win any of the heats to win the Main Event, and while he may have missed success in that competition so far, the previous form suggests Kilara Lion points out he’s far from inventing numbers.

As a two-time Category 1 winner in 2020, players appeared to have lost faith in him after narrowly avoiding elimination in the third round. Qualification has always been the name of the game and the oldest standing dog secured his place on this roster by showing the quickness he recognized in the Kent Derby Final and keeping his line bellicose.

According to the trainer, slight injury problems meant that the dog came into the competition undercooked, but he stayed 500 meters with few problems and proved himself in shape in Towcester by winning the Blue Ribbon in a faultless campaign.

5. BALLYMAC WILD

  • Vulturi Bed – Ballymac Breeze (July 18th)
  • Trainer: Liam Dowling (Irish)
  • Owner: Liam Dowling
  • Fastest calculated time: 29:15 p.m. (June 12)

Reaching the finals of a Category 1 competition is not an easy task, but since Ballymac Wild has made the finals of numerous events in its native Ireland, including the Derby, St. Leger and the Champion Stakes, we shouldn’t be so surprised to see his presence on this occasion.

Few would give him a podium round and after he was available with 40/1 at the start of the competition, the market started paying more attention to him after victories in the first two rounds. He has a certain early pace, has the kind of cunning and spatial awareness that is rare in most greyhounds, and his stamina will not diminish once the breed reaches its breakup.

Saturday’s odds reflect that one in five railers is not an ideal proposition, although his record during the Irish Derby was decent from that position, winning two races and finishing second in the mighty Pestana on the other visit.

6.THORN HAWK (w)

  • bk d Dorotas Wildcat – Hey Delilah (February 19th)
  • Trainer: Patrick Janssens
  • Owner: Two dragons and a lion
  • Fastest Calculated Time: 29.34 (June 12)

Thorn Falcon began life as “Ordinary Joesoap” performing for Joe Devlin on Enniscorthy, and 2018 Derby winner’s son Dorotas Wildcat has proven anything but Towcester.

Splendid at the KAB Maiden Derby, his broad seed made the likelihood of pulling trap six always practical, but he’s not the type to be in the parking lot, he prefers to cut into the first corner and his 39kg mass to his Advantage. He is nimble for his size and has made him very popular with the locals.

He counted Ballymac Fairone and Kilara Lion in the quarter-finals and held on last Saturday evening despite disturbances in the first corner. If he were to reproduce the 4.15 section that he registered in the third round, he would have every chance if it was good enough.

JUDGMENT

reigning champion Deerjet Sydneyy avoided the red jacket and his race will depend on whether he can hit the rails without getting involved Newinn session. Thorn hawk has something to do with the clock, but he can make a difference if he turns around. Ballymac Wild and Kilara lion Stay tuned for this journey and while the former doesn’t need a good break just yet, he’ll be a great player if he does. A total of 16 derby races went over the white jacket and this year BALLYMAC FAIRONE has the advantage of this location. His intoxicating combination of early pace and determination can be enough to lead him to stardom. 3-2-5

GREYHOUND DERBY UNDERCARD PICKS

KING LOUIS (T6) – 8:14 pm

King Louis missed the derby because he didn’t make it before the first round but has won well in that past draw after that draw and Liz McNair’s ace should have been strong for last week’s return.

DRUMCROW BRENT (T6) – 21:58

Droopy’s addition goes towards posting a worthy favorite, but he can miss the kick and there is no room for error. Drumcrow Brent has done a commendable performance in the derby, and if he can twist into a practical position, Mark Wallis’ inmate can outperform his rivals.

PLAINFIELD – Hundreds of thousands of dollars in permit fees will pour into the city’s coffers as construction of a huge Amazon distribution warehouse project begins.

The city’s building department received a check for US $ 270,000 last week that will pave the way for planning permission in the coming days for a planned 202,044-square-foot “last mile” facility that is being built on 61 acres is to be a former dog racing track at 137 Lathrop Road.

“We’ll probably issue this permit on Monday or Tuesday, but before that a temporary permit will be issued so the crews can mill off the old sidewalk and add fences,” said Richard Martel, construction officer on Thursday. “We expect them to break the ground for construction next week.”

The city could receive total permit fees of more than $ 400,000 over the expected nine-month construction schedule, officials said.

“The building permit is just for that – the building,” said Martel. “Other permits are submitted for things like the conveyors that are in the warehouse, along with utility and plumbing permits.

The planning department also expects a check for $ 21,000 to be filed prior to obtaining planning permission for the work, zone enforcement official Ryan Brais said.

“We just have to submit a few documents, for example for drainage easements, and when that is done we will issue the permit,” he said.

Brais said Amazon expects to request preliminary occupancy certificates in May, with full approval being requested soon after.

Regional NSW communities and local greyhound racing participants will be the primary beneficiaries of a concerted push by Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) to help the industry grow and thrive in its heartland. Greyhound races in NSW are unique compared to other major sports and racing codes, as more than 70 percent of the contestants are based outside of the metropolitan area – including the Shoalhaven Greyhound Racing Club. “As an industry, we are all over the country,” said Tony Mestrov, GRNSW’s chief executive officer. “Since such a large part of our industry is located in the NSW region, we made it important that these participants – and their dogs – are looked after.” Read more: NSWRL Decision Shatters Premiership Dream for Tiger Lillies of Septett The industry has recently seen significant funding for infrastructure, significant prize money increases, general track upgrades, and a strong focus on caring for the greyhound both during and after their racing career . “In recent years we have been able to significantly increase the prize money at all levels for the participants, from strengthening main races to increasing the stakes in weekly meetings,” said Mestrov. “We’ve also raised funds to upgrade our circuits. Over the past three months we’ve opened a straight track in Richmond and a state-of-the-art $ 6 million complex in Grafton that has been widely recognized as the best, safest circuit in the world the country.” Last month, NSW government minister responsible for racing, Kevin Anderson, announced a new funding model for the industry that allows GRNSW to contribute at least $ 25 million to a newly formed Greyhound Industry Future Fund over the next five years will invest in capital goods across the state, such as racing and relocation facilities. GRNSW pursues a regional-first approach that supports local companies in growth projects. “We are very conscious of the communities in the regions in which we operate, so we are committed to using local businesses as our preferred suppliers in regional areas where work is being done or supplies are needed for our facilities “Said Mestrov. If you’re looking for a way to help animals and people, sign 10 petitions this week including Ban Greyhound Racing, Ban Child Marriage in North Carolina, and Cancel Pipeline.

We want to thank you for being the change you want to see in the world and giving voice to the voiceless.

1. Great Britain bans greyhound racing

In 2020, the pandemic resulted in many greyhound races being canceled. Although they decreased by almost 33%, 400 greyhounds died or were euthanized. The number is almost the same as it was in 2019, which means the cruelty has only increased. These poor puppies are bred for “sport” and if they are not fast enough they are culled or sold without bothering about the next steps. Then they are muzzled for up to 23 hours a day, caged with several other dogs, and forced to run for human entertainment. Many are killed or euthanized on the racetrack due to injuries that are considered too expensive. At the young age of four or five, they are often murdered because they are deemed unsuitable for new placement. Sign this petition to demand that the UK government ban cruel and antiquated greyhound racing!

2. Expand Medicaid-funded services to schools

Childhood health care is very important to the long-term physical and mental health of children. It should be accessible to all children and their families, but this is not always the case. While Medicaid helps offset the cost of vital health services for low-income people and their families, the problem of accessibility remains. Many parents have long hours and multiple jobs leaving little time to take their children to the doctor. They may also not have access to transportation and childcare for other children. This is why it is so important that Medicaid-funded health services are part of schools. Some of these programs already exist, so why not expand to have local services and providers. If the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) expanded their programs to include health screening, screening, and vaccination schools, so many children missing out on vital health care would finally be cared for and supported to help them have happier, healthier childhoods Life. Sign this petition to urge CMS to expand its funding and services to schools so that eligible children can get checkups, checkups, vaccinations, and other services when they can’t see a doctor!

3. Tell the marine to stop killing marine animals with test bombs

Recently the Navy detonated a 40,000 pound bomb off the Florida coast in a valuable wildlife habitat. Every year they run thousands of these explosive tests that cause immense damage to local wildlife. These tests can kill and injure countless marine animals within six miles. Additionally, animals like dolphins and whales that rely on echolocation may never be able to communicate with their families again. This test was larger than usual tests, which made it difficult to determine the destruction. Additionally, the Navy does not employ trained biologists to monitor marine mammals that may have been affected by their test bombs. They are also not required to disclose information about whether they have worked to protect these marine mammals. Sign this petition to demand that the United States Navy stop unnecessarily killing marine animals with these dangerous test bombs.

4. North Carolina Child Marriage Prohibition

North Carolina has become a destination for child bridal seekers. In 2001 the minimum age at marriage was raised from 12 to 14 and in 2021 to 16. However, if you are pregnant, the age will drop to 14 years. Most of these marriages are between an older man and a young girl, creating an apparent power imbalance that can often lead to abuse, poverty, and poor physical and mental health. Child marriages are dangerous and must be prohibited. Sign this petition to demand that North Carolina protect children by raising the minimum age limit for marriage to 18 years without exception!

5. Demand meaningful climate protection measures from the government

The government must take meaningful climate action immediately to save our planet. Climate disasters are getting worse and more frequent. In the last week of June, heat waves melted power cables and buckled asphalt; Floods closed a freeway in Detroit; and droughts spread across several states. In the midst of these disasters, a group of bipartisan negotiators reached an agreement with President Biden on a greatly reduced infrastructure package and completely abandoned proposed climate change efforts to make them acceptable to Republicans in the Senate. Sign this petition to tell Democrats that meaningful climate action must be included in an infrastructure reconciliation law!

6. Encourage Canada to recognize and investigate the damage residential schools have done to the indigenous people

Over 200 children’s bodies were recently found buried near a former indigenous residential school in British Columbia, Canada. This school was just one of many government-funded institutions that forcibly removed hundreds of thousands of First Nations children from their families (as late as the 1990s). These children were abused and forced to assimilate, resulting in the loss of much of their inheritance. Culture, religion and language. The effects of these boarding schools and other colonial policies can still be felt today for the indigenous people. Sign this petition to demand that the Canadian government add boarding schools directly to today’s bigoted system against the First Nations peoples and invest in tribes to repair the generation damage.

7. Call on the UN to help the Uyghurs

For nearly a decade, the Chinese government has been ethnic cleansing the Uyghurs, a Muslim ethnic minority primarily from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in northwest China. Over 2 million Uyghurs have been sent to “re-education camps” where they are tortured, electrocuted, stripped of their culture, separated from their families, deprived of sleep and forced into forced labor. And often they are never seen or heard again. As a result, many Uyghur families have fled China in search of safety abroad. However, countries like Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have recently started arresting and deporting Uyghurs, knowing they will be sent to these camps. This frightening portrayal of international cooperation on genocide cannot go any further. Sign this petition and call on the UN to take action to help the Uyghurs!

8. Cancel the permits for line 3 of the pipeline

Line 3 is a planned pipeline extension that would bring more than 750,000 barrels of tar sand oil daily through protected indigenous lands from Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin. Line 3 is proposed by the Canadian pipeline company Enbridge, which in 2010 was responsible for one of the largest domestic oil spills in US history. The pipeline expansion, which would cross over 200 lakes and rivers and threaten 800 wetlands, would also violate agreements between the Anishinaabe people and the US government. These areas where the Anishinaabe harvest food and medicine. A pipeline accident could cause permanent damage to your country. The expansion of this pipeline is too dangerous for the indigenous people and their land. In addition, the government must shift its focus to clean energy in order to combat climate change. Sign this petition to tell President Biden that Line 3 must be stopped!

9. Hold Hungary responsible for the anti-LGBTQ law

Hungary recently passed a law making it illegal to share information about LGBTQ people with anyone under the age of 18 as it would “harm” children. Obviously, this is not the case and will lead to both bigotry and negative mental health for LGBTQ children. It is so important that children come into contact with different people and see themselves represented in the media and their education. This law is homophobic and harms LGBTQ Hungarians. Fortunately, 14 other EU member states, led by Belgium, have spoken out against this anti-LGBTQ law. Sign this petition to ask the EU to cut funding to Hungary when this law comes into effect.

10. Repeal laws that prohibit schools from teaching students about systemic racism

Republicans are trying to forbid teachers from informing their students that systemic racism exists in the US. Systemic racism is a terrible yet prominent part of US history that still exists today. There are so many examples of systemic racism in the US, from the suppression of voters to disproportionately high incarceration rates for people of color. It is important to teach and learn systemic racism in the US in order to overcome it and achieve justice and justice for all. Sign this petition to ask state governors to repeal laws that prohibit teaching in critical racial theory!

The Victorian Racing Industry (VRI) is a significant economic contributor to the Victorian economy, contributing $ 4.3 billion annually and maintaining more than 33,000 full-time jobs among over 121,000 participants.

The Racing Integrity Commissioner’s office provides independent oversight of integrity-related matters relating to Victorian Thoroughbred, Belt and Greyhound racing codes.

To ensure that the public and races in Victoria continue to have the utmost confidence in the integrity of the VRI, the Racing Integrity Commissioner’s office, along with the Victoria Police Department, has initiated a work program to resolve crime across the VRI and any impact on integrity to evaluate services or races in general.

Starting today, two police officers will be seconded to the Racing Integrity Commissioner’s office for six months and will work with racing laws and the wider industry to better understand the criminal and integrity risks in Victorian racing.

Sean Carroll, Race Integrity Officer “This initiative represents an excellent opportunity not only for my office but also for the Victoria Police Department to provide a unique insight into racing to better support and promote integrity within the racing industry “.

HE is on a mission to help our pets. . . and is here to answer YOUR questions.

Sean, chief veterinarian at tails.com, a bespoke pet food company, has been helping with owner questions for ten years. He says, “If your pet is acting weird, is bad, or you want to know something about diet or exercise, just ask. I can help keep pets happy and healthy. “

Q) WE have a purebred bengal cat named Luna. It came from a relative of ours who had a baby that kept waking up when the cat meowed.

She’s a lovely cat, but the screams just go on. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason.

She can be very funny with her noises, but if the meowing continues it wears us down. There is no reassurance for them.

We have researched Bengals and found that this is common. So is that just what they do?

She is also a house cat, but likes to sit outside under a tree and mainly watch birds. But she has been with us for about 18 months now, finds her way around and every now and then jumps over the fence into the neighboring garden.

We are afraid that it will go further away and be lost or stolen as it is very beautiful. Shall we make it harder for her to get out?

She won’t be the only cat in creation who won’t find her way home, but I still don’t want to risk it.

Rona Roberts, Kilmarnock

A) This is a classic Bengal thing. You’re nothing but a talkative hangover.

In terms of their safety when leaving the garden, you can find some great solutions to attach them to the tops of fences and walls that lean into your yard to keep them in your space.

Leaving her out of the garden is risky – she runs the risk of getting hit by cars, arguing with other cats, being attacked by other animals, or developing diseases.

In the US there is a trend towards not letting cats run around – for reasons of cat protection, but also because of the harm they cause to wildlife and the problem of toilets in neighbors’ gardens.

Do cats like walking around? Yes. Shall we allow them? Are up for debate.

Q) Do you have any advice on saving my garden from my dog?

I have a 13 month old poochon named Yvie who keeps digging large holes in my lawn. She also ate my bedding flowers.

I tried sprinkling cayenne pepper on top but it only works when it’s not raining.

Angela Morrison, Glasgow

A) You could offer Yvie her own burial area in a sandpit or dedicated area of the bed and train her that this is the only place she can do it.

Digging is natural, but she’ll resort to it more often when she’s bored or under-stimulated

So try different games with her in the garden.

Create an agility course, take long and varied walks with her, let her stop and sniff.

Q) I recently adopted a ten week old kitten, Katie, from a local animal shelter.

She was found straying with her mother and siblings. We tried to settle her in, but she’s very shy.

We put her food down and she has her litter box, but she only comes out of her cat den when no one is around.

I try to be gentle with her, but I’m a little worried that she won’t bond with me.

What do you think i should do

A) Just wait It will take time.

Katie sits back and watches the world to see how it works.

Some will take a few days, some a few weeks, some months, but it will come and it will grow in confidence.

Don’t overcrowd or press her, just encourage her to play occasionally, sprinkle a few goodies, speak gently and don’t force her if she doesn’t want interaction.

One day she will rub against you to cuddle and your heart will melt.

Hay! Pollen is torture for pets too

Does your pet have a summer runny nose?

Our humid May and dry June resulted in a peak in pollen counts, says the Met Office.

Cats and dogs can also get hay fever and they also wear it on their fur and skin, causing more irritation

Cats and dogs can get hay fever too – and they wear it on their fur and skin too, causing more irritation

Rachel Andre of cat litter brand Natusan says, “Allergic runny nose – or hay fever – is an allergic reaction to pollen. It usually occurs in the warmer months when the pollen count is high and can affect animals as well as humans. “

Watch out for cats who groom themselves more than usual and dogs who bite or scratch their skin, causing sores or bald spots.

Pets may also sneeze more, have itchy or watery eyes, and may chew on their paws

If you are concerned, get your pet checked out by a veterinarian.

Treatments include eye drops, nasal sprays, injections, creams, and medicated shampoos.

But DO NOT give them any human hay fever remedies.

Avoid grassy areas when walking, wash your paws afterwards, trim the lawn and weed regularly, keep your home clean, and don’t buy cut flowers.

Rachel adds, “Our pets do so much to support us and make us feel better.

“It is of the utmost importance that we do the same for them.”

It was almost Pat Buckley’s derby so far, but there are still two rounds to Saturday week English derby final. Irish coaches go into competition with eight of the 12 semi-finalists and I am full of Pat Buckley’s pair to win their respective heats.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

First semi-final 21:09

Last year’s defending champion Deerjet Sydney Race from Trap 1 and no dog has ever won two derbies on two different courses. He was expertly prepared by Buckley, who took him from race to race and set a personal best in the quarterfinals. He has won seven of his last eight races and there is no reason why he should not continue in this form. He is the only undefeated greyhound in the competition.

He will have short odds but looks like the most likely winner.

To add a little bit of added value, we can look at the forecast or even bring the top three home. Freezing came off the rack very well in the quarter-finals last week and has a lot of early speed. It was his turn against Deerjet Sydney in his best run at Towcester last time and can follow the favorite in second place to complete the prediction.

Ballymac Fairone got a tricky tie in trap 4 to complete the tricast. I’d rather have him as a toolmaker Sydney – who doesn’t break consistently enough – to make it to the final next weekend.

Selection: 1. Deerjet Sydney

Forecast: 1. Deerjet Sydney; 5 Cold as ice

Tricaast: 1. Deerjet Sydney; 5 Cold as ice; 4 Ballymac Fairone

Second semifinals 21:27

All eyes will be on Pat Buckley again Knocknaboul Syd who is drawn in case 4. It was a feat by Buckley to secure middle place for him after lap three as he broke so much better in his two subsequent races. It is very difficult to see that he is not dominating this second run and he seems to be getting better as the laps progressed, much like his kennel companion in the first run.

I expect him to break out smart and do pretty much anything.

It looks like one of the strongest stakes on the map.

Graham Holland’s Gaytime Milo can complete the prediction as he apparently got a little under the radar. Bockos Belly is a very, very strong greyhound and can complete the tricast.

Selection: 4. Knocknaboul Syd

Forecast: 4. Knocknaboul Syd 5 Gaytime Milo 2 Bockos Belly

Tricaast: 4. Knocknaboul Syd1. Deerjet-Sydney; 5 Cold as ice; 4 Ballymac Fairone

The sub-map

Towcester 20:34

I was a big fan of Glengar Bell and he was able to break away from Trap 5 at the front and shine. Angry Tornado made a time of 29:30, but won’t find it that easy to replicate that of Trap 1 on Saturday night.

Towcester 20:51

Angry Dad was a little unlucky and just has to take the break if he wants to win tonight. I hope he can get out quickly this time, control the pace and deliver.

A fourth doping case came to light in a verdict published yesterday when the Racing Integrity Unit (RIU) indicted BL Goldsack after presenting a prohibited substance for racing to a dog.

The dog Light Cruiser was given diclofenac, a drug used to prevent or relieve pain, swelling, and inflammation that is dangerous to animals if ingested.

SAFE spokeswoman Jessica Chambers says this case adds to our concerns about dogs.

“All eyes are on the industry right now, and nothing has changed for suffering dogs,” said Chambers. “Until the government steps in and stops racing, dogs will continue to suffer.”

Goldsack was fined $ 3,000 and fined $ 1,500 in costs and expenses to the RIU and $ 500 to the Judicial Inspectorate, but was suddenly caught in a “tumult of derogatory, abusive, and obscene outbursts ” leave.

“It’s no surprise that the public has little faith in the greyhound racing industry. When owners / trainers abuse RIU officials, we can only imagine how the dogs will be treated, ”Chambers said.

So far, 31,780 people have signed the petition banning greyhound racing. The petition was launched by the Greyhound Protection League New Zealand in collaboration with SAFE and Grey2K USA Worldwide.

Greyhound races are coming under increasing scrutiny around the world. Members of the US House of Representatives have passed legislation banning greyhound racing. A greyhound racing ban is also being debated in the UK House of Commons after a petition with 100,000 signatures was filed.

Here in Aotearoa, Race Secretary Grant Robertson recently announced an independent review of greyhound racing.

“Robertson must act now. Dog races must be suspended immediately pending verification.”
